When I first started teaching 4 years ago, I never envisioned myself doing anything besides being a classroom teacher. However, after participating in this program, it became clear to me that I not only wanted to advance my career using the tools and skills I learned, but that I could actually make an impact for other teachers. The presentations we gave at the end of the summer provided opportunities for me to get my feet wet training others and applying what I learned. I taught a 5 session writing/reading course with my Alliance partner, developed a wiki for my staff, and am planning a summer workshop for teachers to develop classroom websites. My students came alive and created incredibly insightful and quality projects using all types of technology provided to my in this course. Most importantly, this course gave me the confidence to start my masters program majoring in Instructional Media. I did not even know what Instructional Media was before this course, but now I hope I can be an educational consultant and use my degree to reach out beyond the classroom and help other teachers gain the confidence and motivation that I now have.
